My school only has windows too. You can run windows on macs and they have microsoft office for macs now. I bought mine at school, so it came with extra stuff, but it sounds like your school doesn't have the same program. I personally love my mac and wouldn't have anything else, but I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide
