Gracie was spayed at 9 mos. but was still very tiny (which is why at 6 mos. the vet suggested we wait another 3 mos.--she still hadn't gone into heat yet at 9 mos.). She weighed less than 3 lbs. but she did great. In our area the vets won't do any type of surgery without pre-op bloodwork. I dropped Gracie off at 7 a.m. for her surgery--the vet called me at 10:00 and said she had done great, and I picked her up at 5:00. She was a bit sleepy but the next day I could hardly keep her quiet.
