I think he likes your sunglasses and socks so much because he always sees you with them. Then when he gets them you chase him for them (which he sees as playing). Mine always want what we have. For example, Wes always wants pens because he always sees us with them and he's never allowed to have them.
Here is my advice...make a big deal over his toys: pick them up and squeek them and act like they are the best things ever. LIke you are having so much fun with them. That might get him interested.
I was doing a project with fleece for a few days. During those days I kept shooing Wesley away from the material because I didn't want him to tear it up. When I was done, I made him a rope toy out of the scraps. He thought it was the best thing ever. He carried it around with him. I know it was because I was so involved with it for days and finally I was sharing it with him.
