Well, the edible ones do break apart, kind of like a treat biscuit but harder and bigger. like i broke one in half, one half for each dog, but it was harder to break it smaller. So the dogs really have to be chewing, buuut my dog is a big chewer - so he actually went through it pretty quick. but he looved it and kept them occupied for awhile.
