Before I had gall bladder surgery I ate very tiny amounts a couple of times a day. Usually yogurt or something light like that. I know how you feel! I thought I was having a heart attack and it was always worse at night. I ended up sleeping on a "back wedge" pillow sitting up until I had the surgery.
I hope things work out so you can get in earlier. That's one of the most miserable things I've ever been thru.
