That bites. The thing with mom and pop shops is that they don't buy as much stock and will sell for a higher price because they have to make money to maintian a staff and a stores overhead. Sad to say that you need to go outside of that to get a good price even though you want to help keep the mom and pop shops in business.
The problem is also that some of these local stores are trying to be shi shi boutiques and capitalize on the fact that we dote on our pets.
Sucks but you are probably stuck with the item since you used it. I so doubt that they will price match being a smaller operation.
