we were a little concerned (ok, maybe a lot! ) because our little Toto would not eat any puppy food we offered.

he was 8 weeks old when we got him and ate well, but once he got the taste of some table scraps, all desire for dry food was gone out the window.
we tried all different types, dry and canned, combinations of dog food spinkled with some chicken or beef, but he was still finicky as heck!

he is now a healthy 6 months and about 6lbs, 6oz and has learned that he will get his treats, and some tasty (and healthy, we hope) table scraps, BUT, he knows that HIS food is his, and ours' is ours'.

he stays out of the kitchen (and waits eagerly in the living room!) while we eat.

if he's been a good boy (ya right, like "when isn't he"?) we give the OK and in he comes for some leftovers, but not to excess.

all in all, it's been a trying experience, but if you don't give in to the desire to feed him/her just for the sake of feeding him/her, your little loved one's appetite will take over, and he/she will eventually eat (from our experience).

mixing things up a little is probably a good idea, as well...
