That is a big problem with dogs of any breed thatcome from pet stores and puppy mills. They learn that there's nothing wrong with peeing and pooping where they eat, sleep, and play.
The good thing about a rescue is that you can get an older one, not a puppy, and it can already be partially or completely housebroken for you.
