full means... well full each day fluid builds up in the anal sacks (they are not actually glands) and it is a liquid.. so when the pups poop and good soild poop.. they are emptied by the pressure of pooping... but if the poop is soft or maybe they skip a day and don't poop.. more liquid builds up and each day the liquid becomes thicker... thus making it more difficult to empty.. if they get too full they can burst.. but when the pup scoots... tis a good indication that they are too full for them and they will either poop and relieve the pressure... or keep scooting and need to go to the vet... i know way too mucha bout this because layla had big anal glad issues... however.. many vets feel that if this is a constant problem.. the sacks can be removed.. DO NOT let your vet talk you into this... it can lead to problems controlling their bowels... our vet suggested it.. i did some research and i'm VERY glad we decided not to..we just gave Layla a diet more rich in fibre... gave her fibre cereal in her morning wet food... carrots... fruit.. and she hasn't scooted in probably 3 or 4 months.
