If it would calm your nerves about the situation, then yes, take him to visit beforehand, but I don't think its really neccessary. As long as he has you with him, he should adjust just fine. Like you said, he is very adaptable...and remember that he's been through a lot of adjustments in the last few weeks and done just fine. I'm more worried about you than I am for him...moving can be very stressful for humans!
