I have been told by my vet you can split heartgaurd if the dose is for a 20 pound dog then you split it. But I was also told by another vet not to I do trust the first more she has Yorkies. But I would not do it because they don't back up the meds when you do it.
They state that if you give it year round and the dog gets heart worms they will cover cost of getting rid of the worms but you have to give it to them year round and get test every year.
