i don't think they are "supposed" to... our vet didn't give her any because he wanted her to be aware that she needed to move slowly.. he was afraid that if she wasn't sore she'd be jumping around and would tear back open. .she was fine.. was probably sore for two days.. but then was back to normal! keep us posted
