Yes, it is necesary, as yorkies are known for having teeth decay early... If you don't remove puppy teeth, food starts acumulating there and they will rot very, very soon... Besides that, food between teeth gives them bad breath... Usually people wait to remove them when they are spayed/neutered and sometimes microchipped, so they don't have to go under twice.
