Take your pet out after naps, food and play. Don't expect a puppy to be trained until about 8 months or so. Lower your voice and repeat the same command, potty now or whatever. Lift up your voice with praise and a treat when they finish. I took mine out every 45 mins when I first got them, but I am retired so I could do that. Go to the same spot in the yard. They will get it. I'm not a fan of the pet pad but some people testify to their worth. The main thing is patience and consistency. I said "potty NOW" so many times my husband just about killed me it got on his nerves so badly. Now, at age 3, they will do just that, potty on command, NOW.
