LP is Luxating Patella - that's when the knee cap (patella) slips in and out of its grooved postion (luaxting). There are 4 Grades of LP (4 being the highest and worst). LP doesn't fix itself. After time and constant luxating, irraversable damage is done to the cartiledge (which can't be replaced). That's why they recommed surgery to stablize the luxation - so no futher damage is incurred.
