Mojo had a dark spot come up that made his hair "go away" in that spot...it was the same spot where his "old" vet would give him his shots. When I asked his "old" vet about it, he just said it was due to the shots and not worry about it.

Well....you can imagine, I never went back to that vet and his new vet said that it was very rare that this would happen from the shots, so we went ahead and and it removed, stitched up and had a biopsy done on it. Sure enough, it was from the rabies shot. Wow!

That was two years ago and Mojo has never had a problem w/ the vaccines since. The spot...well, you can't even tell there was ever a problem. There is no dark spot, the hair is all grown the same length and the rest of the hair, there is no lump and the scar area (well, where the stitches were) is smooth.

I think if we hadn't of had it removed, the dark spot would have just gotten bigger and more hair would have been lost. For us, seeing a new vet and having that spot removed was the best thing for us to do.

Again, we have never had a problem w/ this since. And I wasn't really mad at the other vet because I know w/ any meds or shots, there are some sort of side effects....my pay back for him, was that I never went to him again and I always let people now about our experience....word of mouth travels far! We felt that paying for a second opinion and having it taken care of was worth it (in our eyes anyway)....after all, by doing that, that meant that Mojo would be handsome again, free of a nasty looking spot and healthy!
