Girls should not be bred prior to the age of 18 months or their 2nd Season. Males over a year of age.....
Purchase your foundation male and female from a reputable breeder, not just anyone that sells you a dog with open registration.....buy the best you can possibly afford.
No, the male does not have to be smaller.....what should be done is buying 2 dogs that you have full knowledge of their pedigree...
Both should be tested for genetic problems and STDs. Make sure each dog fits within the Yorkie Standard.....
Read and study as much as you can about genetics, breeding and raising a good healthy litter before you even embark on your goal.
