There have never been any scientific studies to label anyone an "expert" on dog neutrition. However there are people with their own ideas and of course we all know what dogs should "not" eat........which is not a long list to say the least.
We also know that real food IS better than dog food, (which isn't real food) but some either are too afraid to feed real, or just don't want to take the time and would rather just pour out a bunch of kibble for the entire day.
If you have ever fed a toddler, then think of it like that. No spices or processed meats.
With the red meat scare it may be best to elimate it altogether, but if you choose not to, then I suggest useing only free range beef. It's more expensive but it doesn't have the added hormones and chemicals.
Lamb and veal are good meats since they don't have added hormones, as well as fowl.
