We have had great success with the pee pads...The pee pads are in tiled areas (bathroom, and laundry room), and both doggies go potty there (#1 and #2).
Miko also squats when he pees, but we can tell when he's peeing. Look for sniffing and circling to tell if he has to go potty.
Try to catch him in the act when he pees somewhere he's not supposed to...And put him on his pad immediately so that he knows where to go. When he does pee on his pad, make sure and make a big deal out of it, and be happy and say "Good boy" emphatically and give him a treat..He will be so happy and he'll figure out that it's good when he pees there.
