Default My boys used to, not any more

My boys did the same thing, they did it the first time at my daughters house in the valley on a totally unfamilar street just blocks from a heavily used freeway. After corraling them that day, I decided that they had to be trained to come when called. I bought a lead (got it from Petedge.com) and hooked it to my belt every minute that I was home with them. I kept them both tied to me, it was long enough for them to go into other rooms, just not too terribly far. Then every once in a while, I would call them, if they did not come immediately, I would "reel" them in. Once they were there, I would praise them, give them a favorite treat and tell them how good they were. Now whenever I call them, they come immediately. This did not happen over night, it took several weeks and now whenever we are out and they are off their leashes, I do a few practice runs with them. They always come when called now.
