I think that if she was more cuddly that my family would be able to accept her more. I had a lot of trouble with my parents when I got her because they were completely against me getting a new dog. They were worried that she would destroy the carpets, etc. and I had to work really hard to convice them to let me have her (this is really funny considering that I am 22) Finally they accepted the fact that she is here to stay and my selling point was that she will not be big. Now I am affraid what will happen if she continues growing.
I looked at Lili's records from when she was Lana's age and I saw that she also had growth spurs where she gained over a pound in a month. Maybe that's normal for little puppies, and then eventually everything will level off. I just hope that Lana doesn't get to be bigger than 6 lb because my parents will go bizzerk.
I had a foster dog (a tiny pom) that had a vicious growl. I went right in her face with mine and said "Don't talk to MEEEEEEE like that !" She licked my nose. I said, Ok she is going home with me. I would hold her on her back and taught my children not to let her get away with growling. I also held her like a baby cradled in arms which she hated at first. We would tell her to "knock it off " when she went in to her mad dog routeen. Little Honey was placed in a home with child and became the perfect pet. She would listen well once she knew she was NOT the boss. I still miss her dearly She has been with her family for 8 years.
