I'm only speaking from my experience with the Fox Terrier breed here but
cobby means the animal is as long as it's tall; as in fitting into a square. btw length of back is from the withers to the base of the tail. So short legs have nothing to
do with it. A Great Dane can be cobby [tho, I don't know if that would be
to their standard
