Just like humans....puppies have stages...baby, toddler, teenager, etc.
Each stage, they have to "learn something"
Baby...teething -->dont' bite fingers
Toddler...potting training --->wee wee pad
Teenager...rebelling ---> stop chewing up things, stop doing things out of spite, etc.
Because of these various stages, they need to be trained again and again until they are one and a half years. Keep them crate trained, even if they are 100% angels....
Just because your puppy is or was 100% potty trained....doesn't mean you stop walking them over to the puppy pad.
Occassionally, walk them over there, wait until they go, and give them a treat and praise them.
That way they still know and they are reminded that YOU ARE THE PACK LEADER!!
