If they are not altered, of course they CAN mate, but it does not mean that they should. So to prevent unwanted pregnancy, please neuter/spay. Lhasa apso's are larger than yorkies. It's dangerous for a female to be bred with a larger male regardless of the type of breed, so please let your female yorkie's health and well-being be the most important thing...She could die if having puppies from a larger dog.
