I usually don't take my zoo anywhere but when my children's friends come over it is an automatic that they want to pick up all the little dogs. I always state the rule right when they walk in the house. No picking up the little dogs and the reason I give is, "they will get nervous and try to jump from your arms, so no picking up". The few times I have been out in public around strangers I say the same thing, don't pick her up, she'll try to jump and get hurt. Rude people.
