Get your ankle checked out now.
Cheerleading may be what you know now, but that it is...what you know now.
I'm not trying to deter you from what you love.
But more important that anything else, is your health.
You may have developed a minute fracture. You may have a minor sprain.
But look at it this way. You're a professional athlete. You train for years and years being a cheerleader. And IF you want to ensure you have the ABILITY to keep cheerleading, you will get yourself checked out.
Major NBA players fall down on the floor at what may seem like the slightest touch. But they are worth millions to themselves, their families, and their team. They are taught to fall down when there is something wrong and NOT to shrug it off. There is too much at risk (health and money).
Same scenario for you. Your health is at risk.
Get your ankle checked out now! BEFORE an injury heals over itself. In the mean time, take some Alleve. That will help w/ the inflamation. And stay off your ankle until you heal completely. The WORST thing you can do, is to repeatedly hammer away at the injury by landing on that ankle even more.
Don't get it checked out thinking it went away? And the injury may surface later on randomly in the form of pain in the same spot or elsewhere.
I wish you a speedy recovery. |
