Hi,
I'm fairly new to YT, but caught this thread this morning and couldn't tear myself away! I too have a special baby. That's him by the soda can, I would send more pics but can't reduce them on my computer. Rocky was one of six, 4 were "normal" size and two were very very tiny. Unfortunately, I lost the little girl I called "Thumbalina" when she was 6 weeks old, she just couldn't seem to get enuf nutrition to thrive, But ole "Pocket Rocket" was a go getter. I too was up every hour on the hour for 2-3 months giving dextrose and IV fluids under the skin to keep him hydrated. What a job. Feeding him with syringes etc. so I really felt like I knew exactly what you went thru. Today he is 7 months 1 week old and weighs a whopping 2 lbs, 3 ozs. Probably not going to get much bigger, but that's ok cause like TIA he's a ball of energy. I was luckier than you tho, cause I work in a vets office so I was able to take him with me every day which was a big help. To this day he has his little house he sleeps in on my bed, and pity the poor soul who goes near the door of his house when he is in it, he snarls, growls and barks like a pitt bull. That's his castle and nobody better come near. LOL He is still skinny, but guess he will always be that way, as long as he is healthy I can live with it!
I am so glad the two of you and your babies are doing so well, and am proud to be a member of the small community of people who really care about their puppies. I have been breeding yorkies for a long time and this is the first time I ever got tinies and hope it doesn't happen again but if it does, I'll do the same thing all over again just like you. ( Tho I swore I would never do it again) just like you!
Tia is a little doll, wish I could post a pic of Rocky for you all. Thanks again for the inspirational story and love the happy ending!
