My Simba Experience I agree that this is probably more like a puppy mill than a "breeder," and I would discourage people from buying puppies from Simba's Pride.
Last year we bought an adult dog from Simba's Pride. She was a breeder that they had decided to retire. She was described as "sweet" and "housebroken." She was neither. We essentially paid $500 for a rescue dog.
We have spent over $1,000 on animal behaviorists and training. She has been described as having kennel syndrome. She has no social skills with people. She has horrible separation anxiety. She is extremely fearful of men, and particularly of men's shoes and feet. We think she was abused, or at best, neglected.
After a lot of work, she is starting to act like a dog, but it has been a difficult and heartbreaking experience. I am sure there are many reputable breeders out there. Look for one. |
