I went to petsmart a while back, and there was a lady with a lil cockapoo puppy , i went up and asked if i could pet her, and the dog was so sweet and all i said was "omg you have such a cute dog" and she looks at me like im crazy and sais "shes not a DOG you know! shes part of the family!" and she put finger air quotes around dog like i said something completely absurd, and then she marches off all mad.

yes, i understand that dogs are family and your babies.. but arent they still dogs? If i would've called her dog a mutt or something disrespectful, i would've expected an attitude. I love dogs, and i know that when i get mine im gonna love dressing her up and caring for her and she will be my baby . but she will still be a dog. does calling her a dog mean i will love her any less? i don't think so.
