Different breeders cover different things. luxating patella is sometimes covered and sometimes not as it can be caused by stress on the knees. if a puppy jumps off a chair and injures itself, that is not genetic. it is genetic in some cases. Liver shunt is always coveredd, I think, by every breeder. As far as the color dilution you mentioned, that would show up before the puppy is sold and it would not be sold. Alopecia can happen to any dog at any time same as people. Most of the things that can be cured by a vet are not covered. Also most breeders do not offer a full refund but a replacement puppy when available if your puppy should die from a genetic defect or be found unsound within a certain amount of time that the individual breeder has put in the contract. Most breeders will take every situation under consideration and may make some exceptions to their own contract. each contract is different and always spells out what is covered and what is not. The finest detail is in writing. The seller has to be protected as well as the buyer. |
