Default New Baby...

I've had my Wylie for 6.5 months now - he was about 2-2.2 pounds when I got him at 10 weeks.

It can be very stressful for pups to change their environment and Yorkies can be prone to low blood sugar. If it gets too low, they may feel nauseous and won't want to eat their regular food. There were a few times (on the way to the vet, in the car etc) where I could tell Wylie was scared, stressed and getting a little listless - I gave him just a bit of Nutrical to prevent his blood sugar from getting too low.

If your baby's appetite continues to be poor, I'd recommend a bit of Karo Syrup in her water dish - this will ensure she gets some sugar. Her appetite will resurface - but you don't want her feeling nauseous (hence, the Karo/ Nutrical). The Karo/water combo also provides increased hydration for her.

Give her lots of love and hugs. And, Wylie loved having a "big dog" - a stuffed dog that was bigger than him that he could snuggle up to (in addition to "Wylie-size" stuffed dogs). He still adores big dog to no end, sort of like a security blanket.

Congrats and good luck!
