As I was training them, I just gradually increased the area where they had access. But I would never allow them access to a carpeted floor until they were completely and absolutely housebroken unless I was home. Otherwise, you'll be sorry. By the time they are a year old mine have had access to the entire home. Of course, it depends on the individual yorkie when they are housebroken.
