Jodie,

Thanks for the information! The flights each way are a little over seven hours and that includes one change of planes. I know in her current hard carrier, if it were tilted at all, any water would spill. The flight out is a red eye, so she shouldn't need to be fed or watered then anyway, since she'll have eaten for the day by then, and it will be her regular sleep time.
