I was just telling people the view over here......we have a huge anti-cruelty thing over here, and so do you all, but in a different way - but both have their own merrits.
No doubt there are bound to be things over here that are not good or not agreed with over with you, and I would be glad for someone to ask me about them and hear their feelings from your country about these issues. I won't be offended, just amused or interested !  Debra x x x All is good !!! |
I wasn't trying to pre-judge any situation and I don't see how trying to divert a topic before it gets out of hand is a bad thing to do. There have been MANY times when the topics of practices here vs in Europe have been brought up and EVERY time it starts the same way as this one and ends badly. You'll see that the longer you are here. So I wasn't pre-judging, I was basing what I said off of what HAS happened.
And at no point did I ever suggest you turn your back on your beliefs. By all means, say what you feel--I was just urging everyone to take extreme caution and do so in a respectful manner so that this topic DOESN'T end up as an offensive debate.
Maybe refrain from making comments like "Seems to be in America you all go the vet route for everything." But then agian, I'm sure this whole converstion is just "amussing" to you, eh?
