From the sounds of it, what you see is normal. I know sometimes when I catch a glimse of Biscuit's eye under the lid, it is pretty red. These are all normal blood vessels. When these hemmorage from pressure or injury of some sort, it is very obvious, but just normal red vessels is a healthy sign.
