I had a much larger 25 lb lhasa apso had this surgery some years back. She was older and did great. Recovery was very quick. I don't think hernia surgery is hugely invasive like a lot of surgery. good luck, I know you are worried, but I'm sure your baby will be fine.
ilovelouie just had a tiny yorkie that had this surgery. You might want to get in touch w/her. I know her baby did very well.
