Maya has a terrible skin problem Maya has had some skin issues in the past year and we seemed to finally get it under control when they diagnosed her with hypothyrodism. She has been on meds for months and her skin seemed to clear up. In the past week I started to notice the skin issues again. They are round patches of oily waxy lesions that scrape off and take all the hair around it off as well. She has lost so much coat even though it's hard to tell if you didn't see her before as she has a massive coat. Her tail is going bare as well as her rear and areas around her neck, head and muzzle. I took her to the vet and unfortunatley got the new one who is pretty inexperienced and he's like I don't know what it is but it is pretty bad. Then after looking at her for 10 minutes says it's a mystery to him. He said the only thing he could think of is that is an immune disorder and treatment would be steroids and with her heart problem he wouldn't want to put her on them. So I said should I take her to a dermatologist specialist and he said that would be a good idea!! So we go Thursday. I feel so bad for her. Has any one experienced anything like this?
