Mine love to walk and play outside! Taking them out is the only way I can get things done sometimes: I take them out for an hour walk or play at the park, then I get about 1.5 hours to myself as they sleep.
I plan on starting to hike with mine. I'm going to ease them in to it though. Just as a person, they need to build up their endurance.
I agree, if it weren't for my two, I would almost never get any exercise! They don't let me be lazy!
