LOL. I feel your pain. When we try to ignore Maddie, she either brings the ball and lays it right on our lap or she just sits there and makes this noise from the back of her throat. It's hard to explain the noise, but it's almost like a human grumbling.

If we take the ball from her, she runs around the house frantically looking for it. A few times she has torn apart her ball and we've had to throw it away. Since we couldn't get the store to buy another one soon enough, she began to substitute one of her smaller stuffed toys for the ball.

She now understands "bring it closer" when she doesn't drop her ball close enough so that helps a little.

I guess my thing is that her ball is the joy of her life. It's such a simple pleasure that it's so hard for me to deny her it. If only human pleasure could be as simple as a tiny tennis ball.
