Smile New Yorkie Mommy!!

Hi there! I've been lurking at the forum for about a day now, and I just wanted to say hi and to introduce myself and my baby, Sadie.

Sadie will be six months old tomorrow, and is just the cutest thing (I'm sure we all think that about ours!). I'm 24 and recently bought a condo with my boyfriend....three months in, he decided that we HAD to have a dog, and I told him the only dog I would have was a Yorkie, and good luck finding one around here....well, two days later, we brought Sadie home.

We went about it the not-so-wonderful way, and picked her up from a pet store. I know that puppies from pet stores are mostly from "puppy mills," and after doing some research, I'm sure that Sadie came from one...but she hasn't had major behavioral problems for a puppy, and I just love her to bits- just because she came from some unfortunate circumstances doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a home too, right?

Like I said, we live in a condo, on the bottom floor, so the outside training thing just was not easy in the winter; especially since we got her at 12 weeks and the poor thing would shake like crazy outside in the New England winter...so we did the pee pee pad thing, and it's going well. I would say she's about 85% pee-pee pad trained...for pee, anyway. Poop, that's a different story. We've just recently started taking her outside, and it's not going well. I am getting a little nervous, especially since we both work full-time, but with consistency, I know she'll get it eventually, I'm patient, and she's good with the pad anyway, so....

My main concern is this: has anyone ever had any problems with their puppies eating their poop? It is SO disgusting. We have to catch her right after she's done it, or she'll eat it real quick and we won't even know she went. How horrendous. I have researched why she does this, and can't find much help. I hope I'm not the only one who's had this problem...I'll feel awful. LOL

Sorry this post took so long to make my point, but like I said, I wanted to introduce you to me and Sadie; this is a wonderful place for talking about our babies! (I have to admit, I'm a little obsessed and I think all my friends are getting graciously annoyed with the constant Sadie-isms. Ha-ha!)
