I hope your new house will feel like a home to you really soon after you move in. It is sad the way they tear things down now a days..
LOL - you're right about moving into a neighborhood and chopping down trees. When the people next to us moved in, they went from the top of the hill all the way to the river with their tractor - taking down all the trees in the way so they would have room for their toys - boats, tractors, etc...
They put up a HUGE garage (two story) and we lost a lot of the privacy we moved in here for. I'm still mad at them.
So, you probably are making a good decision - well at least if any of your new neighbors are like me!!!
