I would like to point out (and I hope you don't take this the wrong way), but after your vehicle was hit, you stated you were steaming mad and approached the vehicle demanding to see their insurance. The problem is this,...while you were clearly upset, you were unintentionally aggressive towards them. You could've politely asked them to exchange IDs/insurance info.
There isn't a reason for individuals to get violently upset. Yes,...people get hurt. But that is what we pay insurance for. So these insurance companies can can pay us...for the exhorbetent (sp?) fees that we pay.
I've been in 3 accidents thus far. None of which were my fault.
If anything, put yourself in the teenagers shoes...and see how freaked out/scared you would be...
Also, if you are involved in an accident. (If your vehicle is driveable) You CAN move your car to the side of the road. It isn't a crime scene w/ a dead body in the road that must not be moved. You do this, to allow traffic behind you to continue moving. A lot of people do not understand this. And if a police officer shows up, he will tell you the same thing.
I wish you and your family a speedy recovery process.
(EDIT, I just read that the teenagers stole the car. That is why they freaked out. I hope they BURN in hell.) |
WOW - well I certainly don't want anyone BURNING IN HELL over this, lol...but yes, I WAS "steaming mad" and rightfully so. I didn't even get so much as a thank you from them - and I can tell ya, that they were planning on taking off from the get go. They never so much as stepped foot out of their car after they hit us...and that should have been the first thing they did. Had they of walked up to my car and apologized, it would have been a different story. I wouldn't of been near as mad. Upset? Yes. Steaming mad? No. But being that they didn't apologize and had absolutely no remorse for what they did, they obviously had no insurance, and stolen plates - yes...I was pretty much furious

And will probably stay that way until they get caught and are punished!
And as for the teenagers being scared...yes, I bet they were. And they had good reason to be. Driving around with stolen plates and I'm pretty positive NO INSURANCE, after smacking into the back of someone...I'd be pretty scared too
This whole incident cost me $250 and it wasn't my fault. I have about $2500 worth of medical bills that I have left to pay after my eye surgery that I had back in November so I REALLY don't need this right now. That $250 that I have to now put towards getting my car fixed could have soooo gone towards something else that I needed it for. It's a pain and an inconvience and yes I am MAD about it. I think anyone would be
