I caught my puppy 3x going poopers...........literally CAUGHT him, one time he hadn't even quite squeezed it out yet...........but my way of SCOLDING, isn't really SCOLDING, but I CAUGHT HIM....yelled "NO, NAUGHTY!!!!!!!!", grabbed the turd in ANYTHING I could find at that second (piece of paper, tissue, napkin........ANYTHING) Grabbed him, and put the turd RIGHT BY HIS FACE (not touching his face, just close enough so that he was stuck smelling the thing until we got outside) and put the poo where he was SUPPOSE TO GO. All the while I was bringing him out I was saying "POOPERS OUTSIDE" over and over again.
He knows my word for ANYTHING he does wrong.......in a REALLY LOW VOICE I say "NAUGHTY" and he then goes down low and says he's sorry
My lil guy was pretty easy to train......he was FULLY trained and going to the door JUST BEFORE he turned 4 months.
