I really don't know for sure if they had proof of shots. I'm sure that if they didn't they would have taken the dog.
And yes they did pay the bill. They both felt really bad about the whole thing. And come and see how he's doing every so often. They are fixing the fence and filling up the holes where he had dug to the out.
