So sorry this has happened to you.... sending get well wishes.
I just wanted to say.... document everything! Do not talk to the other party at all. Let your insurance company deal with that and if anyone gives you the run around, get an attorney. My husband had a really nasty motorcycle accident about 7 years ago (the truck owner that hit him was at fault) and when we started getting the run around from that guy's insurance company, all it took was a letter from our attorney (which was just my husband's cousin - an attorney in Houston) to get them to sing a totally different song. You know, years later my husband had to deal with that guy's wife in relation to his job (insurance adjuster) and when she realized who he was, she told him that it nearly killed them to stay away from the hospital and avoid all contact with us because they wanted so badly to personally apologize but their insurance co. said not to talk to us. It is always for the best to not get personally involved (in a good way or bad way) with the other party but it's hard - whether you want to apologize like they did or whether you want to beat the tar out of them like we did.
Good luck and I hope it all works out for you without too much trouble.
