Stay with AKC. Some time back I puchased a working dog, AKC registered. I purchased her as a pet, and protector only, no intentions on breeding her. Several months later I received a letter from AKC that there was a DNA problem. I contacted the breeder I purchased her from, as he also received a letter. He contacted me a couple of days later to let me know it was nothing he done wrong. It was the breeder he purchased his male from. That person let the female stay out in the fields with the male protecting the live stock and did not put her up when she came into season like he should have. Well I don't need to tell the rest of that story. This affected a lot of dogs. I wonder if any people went on to register with another registry so they could raise puppies? AKC works hard to make sure people are getting a full blooded dog. Check out their website.
