Inbreeding is the breeding of closely related individuals, no further separated in the pedigree than one generation: brother to sister, son to dam, sire to daughter, or half-brother to half-sister. It reduces the gene pool and can either turn out very good or very bad since it doubles the chance for the desired traits but also the hidden undesired traits.
Linebreeding brings together individuals further removed than one generation: grandfather to granddaughter, cousins, aunt to nephew. Usually the individuals are closely related to a common ancestor but are little, if at all, related to each other ( 2 dogs that happen to share a grandfather).
