If you want a cat, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a Russian Blue. They are BEAUTIFUL, loving, sweet, adorable cats!! They are also a lot more independent. I had one growing up named Smokey and he would sleep on my mother's pillow every night. He drooled just like a dog LOL and he LOVED people!! He was so affectionate and loving ... he was just like a dog in personality.
