I kinda just pushed Carter over once he was starting his roll. It only took about 10 minutes and he was on his way!

You have to relate it to lots of praise (LOTS) or something else they value - such as throwing a toy for them to go get.

Carter knows that I won't throw any toy for him unless he sits or downs or rolls over. He rolls over frantically to get my attention when I have a toy in my hand!
