My pup is about that age has the silver roots coming in on her head. Yes this is normal. I have a 2 year old that is mainly silver with a tan head, and 1 year old who is mainly black with silver on the belly, and brown,tan, black, and a touch of silver on her head. ( i love her coloring!!!) But the puppy is going to turn silver with the tan head, I think. It's hard to tell.
People that don't know anything about yorkies, will make comments to me like this: " He looks old, how much longer you think he will be alive?"
They have no idea he's only 2 and that is a primary color that they change to.
